Lenox Whistling Stainless Steel Tea Kettle Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Health Canada, an Ottawa, Ontario regulatory and safety safety authority, recalls an estimated 1,920 Lenox-branded 2.5 Quart Whistling Stainless Steel Tea Kettles imported by Continuum Sales & Marketing Corp. of Port Washington, New York from the Canadian marketplace due to suspect design malfunction and consequential burns and/or scalds, all serious safety hazards.

Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports this recall involves Continuum’s Lenox-branded 2.5 Quart Whistling Stainless Steel Tea Kettle with a three layered bottom. The Tea Kettles were sold in a variety of colours, including blue, red, silver and gold.

  • The recalled Tea Kettles have a stainless steel flat bottom that measures approximately seven (7) inches in diameter and has a bent edge that extends approximately one (1) inches beyond the flat portion of the bottom. The brand name “Lenox” can be found written on the sides and the bottom of the kettle.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to Health Canada, the Tea Kettles can expel hot water during use, posing a burn hazard to consumers. The recalled products are known to have been sold sold at HomeSense, Marshalls and Winners.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Tea Kettles, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.
