Condies Foods Chicken Salad Croissant & Sandwich Recall [US]

US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Condies Foods Inc., a Kearns, Utah establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Chicken Salad Croissants and Sandwich products from the American marketplace due to undeclared Soy, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chicken Salad products are subject to this recall:

  • Condies Foods Roll Chicken Salad on Croissant, sold with an item designation of 43237, use-thru dates ranging from 03/6/2020 to 05/6/2020 and a UPC of 50777445351
  • Condies SNDW Chicken Sandwich on White Single, sold with an item designation of 43559, use-thru dates ranging from 03/6/2020 to 05/2/2020 and a UPC of 50777444804

According to the FDA, after an internal in-house audit of product ingredients by the Quality Assurance Manager of Condies Foods, it was discovered that the wrong primary ingredient had been purchased and used to produce these Chicken Salad Croissant and Sandwich products.

Please note: while these Sandwich and Croissant products may be close to or past their use-by dates, they may be in your freezers or storage chillers. If you have purchased these products within the past two months, please check your refrigerators, chillers and/or freezers to ensure these food products have not been stored for future consumption. If found, these products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase for refund.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chicken Salad Croissant products and Chicken Salad Sandwich products and could be allergic to their Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
