Sundial Grower Top Leaf Strawberry Cream Dried Cannabis Pre-Rolls Recall [Canada]

Canada/Ottawa: Sundial Growers Inc., a Calgary, Alberta establishment, recalls an estimated 30,576 units (one batch/lot) of Sundial Grower branded Top Leaf Strawberry Cream Dried Cannabis Pre-Roll products from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected inaccurate THC labeling and consequential excessive drug potency, both serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
Health Canada/Santé Canada (“HCSC”) reports the following Sundial Grower branded Dried Cannabis products are subject to this recall:

  • Sundial Grower Top Leaf Strawberry Cream Dried Cannabis Pre-Rolls, sold in 0.5 gram packages with a batch/lot designation of 0231005192P203, packaging dates of 01/16/20, 01/17/20, 01/18/20, 0120/20, 01/23/20, 01/24/20, 01/25/20, 01/26/20, 01/27/20, 01/28/20, 01/29/20, 01/30/20 and 01/31/20. Each of these products has a THC rating in excess of that listed on the package, a complete list of which is available on the Web site listed above.
  • Sundial Grower Top Leaf Strawberry Cream Dried Cannabis Pre-Rolls, sold in five (5) by 0.5 gram packages with a batch/lot designation of 0231005192P203, packaging dates of 01/14/20 and 01/15/20. Each of these products has a THC rating in excess of that listed on the package, a complete list of which is available on the Web site listed above.

According to Health Canada, the product label on these recalled Cannabis products has an incorrect Cannabinoid value. Specifically, the THC total labelled is lower than the actual THC total. The consumption of these recalled products, therefore, may cause unexpected effects due to a greater concentration of THC, one of the active ingredients in Cannabis.

As of press time, neither Sundial Growers nor Health Canada had received any complaints related to the recalled batch/lot. Further, neither Sundial Growers nor Health Canada has received any adverse reaction reports for the recalled Sundial Grower Top Leaf Strawberry Cream Dried Cannabis Pre-Roll product. The recalled Cannabis products were known to be sold from March 13, 2020 to March 24, 2020. in the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dried Cannabis products, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm drug poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any drug or medication, return it to your retailer for refund, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect Dried Cannabis products.
