US FlagCanada FlagUS/Washington & Canada/Ottawa: LUS Distribution Inc., a Toronto, Ontario establishment recalls an estimated total 3,110 of LUS branded Handheld Hair Dryers with Detachable Diffuser (approximately 2,700 in the US and approximately 410 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to failure to have an integrated immersion protection device, posing electrocution or shock hazards if the dryer falls into the water when energized/plugged in to an electrical outlet with consequential risks of electric shock, electrocution, burns and skin damage, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain LUS branded Hair Dryers with Detachable Diffusers.

  • The recalled Handheld Hair Dryers were sold in white, in a box that also contains an attachable Diffuser. The Hair Dryers have the model number “HD-LUS01” printed under the intake end of the Hair Dryers while the logos, “LUS Brands” and “Love Ur Curls” can be found on either side of the intake end of each Dryer.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the recalled Hair Dryers do not have an immersion protection device, posing an electrocution or shock hazard if the device falls into water when plugged in.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Hair Dryers, please do not use it. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
