Golisi branded Smart Charger products, sold with a model designation of S4, an unlisted batch/lot code and a barcode/EAN/UPC of 6970891760083. The product is a Battery charger device designed to charge e-cigarettes machines.

No batch/lot designations, best-before date codes, manufacturing date codes, production dates, expiry dates, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other codes were listed with this recall.

The type of hazards presented in these recalled Golisi branded Smart Charger products include the reported finding that the insulation is not sufficient to properly shield the mains amperage and the creepage distance between the live primary and accessible secondary circuit is not adequate to ensure the safety of the user by reducing the chances of electrical shock.

Specifically, electrical current traveling through the Golisi branded Smart Charger products could travel into areas assumed safe from electric shock. If this defect occurs, a user may come into contact with live parts and receive an electric shock. Depending on a variety of factors including the mass (i.e., weight) of the victim, his or her overall health and age, these injuries could be life-changing and/or life-threatening.

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these Golisi branded Smart Charger products do not comply with the requirements of Europe’s Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60335.

Consequently, a recall of these Golisi branded Smart Charger products and a withdrawal of the product from the European marketplace and recall from end users has been ordered.
