Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Magnetic Building Block Toys are subject to this recall:

  • Large Magnetic Cube Building Blocks, consisting of 512 individual 5 mm (~1/2 inch) magnetic balls

==> No barcodes, APNs, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, these Amazon Magnetic Cube Building Block Toys contain small, high-powered magnets. As such, the product exceeds the maximum allowable magnetic flux index set by the permanent ban on certain small, high powered magnets, prescribed in Australia’s Consumer Protection Notice No 5 of 2012 ‘Imposition of permanent ban on small, high powered magnets’.

If a child swallows more than one small high powered magnet, the magnets can stick together across the walls of the child’s intestine or other digestive tissue, which can lead to internal injuries and even death. These magnets may need emergency surgical intervention to remove. Further, the magnets may pose a choking hazard to young children (small parts).

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled any of the Large Magnetic Cube Building Blocks, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
