Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Green Co Ltd Choi’s Mushrooms, a Kemps Creek, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Choi’s Mushrooms branded Enoki Mushrooms from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Choi’s Mushrooms Enoki Mushrooms are subject to this recall:

  • Choi’s Mushrooms branded Enoki Mushrooms, sold in 300 gram clear clear and green plastic bags with a date marking of 220420

==> No barcodes, APNs, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Listeria may cause serious illness in pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly and people with compromised or depressed immune systems. Consequently, you should neither serve nor consume the recalled Enoki Mushroom products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Enoki Mushrooms, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisoning such as Listeriosis.
