Additional information:

Among the eleven (11) recalls the NHTSA announced this April comes news of the following:

Logo - GilligGillig LLC (“Gillig”), a Livermore, California establishment and a subsidiary of Henry Crown & Company of Wheeling, Illinois, has recalled an estimated 8,224 model year certain 2012-2020 Low Floor Buses marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Electrical System – Incorrect Circuit Breaker Can Result in Short and Fire

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V179000 reports the circuit breaker ratings on the DEF Line Heater circuit and the After-treatment-Ignition circuit may be higher than the rating for the wire and connector.

According to the NHTSA, with the improper circuit breaker rating, an electrical short in either of these circuits may increase the risk of a fire in the recalled Buses.

Gillig will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the circuit breakers, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin April 24, 2020. Owners may contact Gillig Customer Service at 1-510-264-5073 or toll-free at 1-800-735-1500 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”).

You may also contact the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline toll-free at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) during normal business hours, Eastern Standard Time, or visit https://www.safercar.gov/.
