US NHTSA Recalls: Husqvarna Motorcycles

Among the eighty seven (87) recalls the NHTSA announced this March comes news of the following:

Logo - KTM North America, Inc.KTM North America, Inc. (“KTM”), a Lorain, Ohio establishment and subsidiary of KTM AG of Mattighofen, Austria, has recalled an estimated 1,500 model year 2019-2020 Husqvarna 701 Svartpilen and 2018-2020 Husqvarna 701 Vitpilen Motorcycles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Fuel System, Gasoline – Possible Fuel Leak

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V170000 reports fuel may leak from the fuel level sensor and fuel pump mounting area of the recall Motorcycles.

According to the NHTSA, a fuel leak can increase the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source, and increase the risk of injury, including serious burns and scalds, explosion and property damage.

The remedy for this recall is still under development. Registered owners will be notified when the remedy is available and to take their recalled Motorcycles to an authorized Husqvarna Motorcycle North America, Inc. (“HMNA”) dealership for repairs. The recall is expected to begin May 15, 2020. Owners may contact HMNA Customer Service toll-free at 1-888-985-6090 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). HMNA’s designation for this recall is HTB2011.
