Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Quality Produce International, a Canning Vale, Western Australia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Loose Leaf Lettuce products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination and consequential risk of Gram-negative bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Loose Leaf Lettuce products are subject to this recall:

  • Asian Vegetable Mix, sold in 500 gram clear plastic bags
  • Lettuce Mizuna, sold in 500 gram clear plastic bags
  • Prepack Asian Mix, sold in 200 gram clear plastic bags
  • Special Mix, sold in one (1) kilogram clear plastic bags
  • Special Mix, sold in 200 gram clear plastic bags
  • Swiss Chard, sold in 500 gram clear plastic bags
  • Tatsoi Baby, sold in 500 gram clear plastic bags

==> No barcodes, APNs, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, Quality Produce International has recalled certain batch/lots of Loose Leaf Lettuce products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Salmonella contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Loose Leaf Lettuce products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial poisoning such as Salmonellosis.
