Among the sixty six (66) recalls the NHTSA announced this March comes news of the following:

Logo - PACCARPACCAR Incorporated (“PACCAR”), a Bellevue, Washington establishment, has recalled an estimated 35,671 model year 2015-2020 Peterbilt 365, 389, 567, and 579 Trucks equipped with a left-hand under hood jumper terminal (option code 2539410) marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

Recall Category: Electrical System – Underhood Battery Jumper Cable May Short Circuit

Logo - PeterbiltNHTSA Safety Notification 20V130000 reports the positive battery jumper terminal cable may be too long in the recalled vehicles, allowing it to chafe against the left front suspension spring and result in an electrical short circuit.

According to the NHTSA, an electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire..

PACCAR will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect the battery jumper terminal cables, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin May 1, 2020. Owners may contact PACCAR Customer Service toll-free at 1-940-591-4220 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Pacific Standard Time (“PST”). PACCAR’s designation for this recall is 20PBA.
