Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: McPherson’s Consumer Product Pty Ltd, a Kingsgrove, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Kotia Rejuvenating Serum from the Australian marketplace due to suspected bacterial contamination and consequential risk of bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Cosmetics are subject to this recall:

  • Kotia Rejuvenating Serum, cosmetic serum sold for skin hydration and rejuvenation and applied to the face, neck or under the eyes in combination with day or night creams, a batch/lot designation of 118358 (found on crimp of tube) and an APN/barcode/UPC of 9421904998025.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to suspected bacterial contamination of the identified batch/lot. If sick, elderly or immunocompromised users apply or otherwise consume this product, they may develop bacterial infections of their eyes or, to their skin if the recalled Serun is applied to a wound, ulcer or other skin breach. You should not use the recalled contaminated Cosmetics identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm cosmetic poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any cosmetics, return them to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect cosmetic.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat bacterial infection.
