US NHTSA Recalls: Ford Ranger Vehicles

Among the forty (40) recalls the NHTSA announced this March comes news of the following:

Logo - Ford Motor CompanyFord Motor Company (“Ford”), a Dearborn, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 5,384 model year 2019 Ranger vehicles previously repaired under NHTSA recall designation 19V-726 and marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V137000 reports the service replacement Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (“HVAC”) Blower Motor that was installed may have an improper clearance between an electrical terminal and the conductive base plate that may result in an resistive electrical short.

According to the NHTSA, a resistive electrical short increases the risk of a fire.

Ford will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the HVAC blower motor, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin April 6, 2020. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-436-7332 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Ford’s designation for this recall is 20S12.
