Additional information:

Among the twenty two (22) recalls the NHTSA announced this March comes news of the following:

Logo - Vermeer CompanyVermeer Company, formally known as Vermeer Manufacturing Company, a Pella, Iowa establishment, has recalled an estimated 7,986 model year 2016-2020 BC1000XL, BC1200XL, BC1500 and AX19 Brush Chipper Trailers marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V085000 reports incorrect lug nuts may have been installed, possibly resulting in the lug nuts loosening.

According to the NHTSA, if the lug nuts loosen while the vehicle is in motion, the wheel may detach and become a road hazard, or there may be a loss of control of the trailer. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash.

Vermeer will notify registered owners and install a repair kit when it is available. In the meantime, owners should verify that the lug nuts are tight before using their Trailers. Owners are expected to be notified in March 2020. Owners may contact Vermeer Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-829-0051, extension 7060, during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Central Standard Time (“CST”). Vermeer’s designation for this recall is IK3922.
