US NHTSA Recalls: Audi TT Quattro Vehicles

Among the fifty three (53) recalls the NHTSA announced this past month came news of the following:

Logo - Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (“Volkswagen”), a Herndon, Virginia establishment and subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group of Wolfsburg, Germany, has recalled an estimated 8,572 model year 2016-2019 Audi TT Roadster Quattro and Audi TT Coupe Quattro vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V076000 reports that in the event of a crash, the fuel tank may become damaged by the fuel tank heat shield bracket.

Logo - AudiAccording to the NHTSA, a damaged fuel tank may leak fuel, increasing the risk of a fire.

Volkswagen will notify registered owners, and dealers will install a protective cap on the fuel tank heat shield bracket, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin April 10, 2020. Owners may contact Volkswagen Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen’s designation for this recall is 20BX.
