Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: HBC Trading Australia Pty Ltd., a Regents Park, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Petite Lentille Verte/Small Green Lentil products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected Stone/Rock Fragment Contamination and consequential risk of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Green Lentil products are subject to this recall:

  • Lentils Petite Lentille Verte/Small Green Lentils, sold in 500 gram clear pouch bags with a batch/lot code of 32221097, a best-before of 12/Jun/21 and an APN/EAN of 9339337000652

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the suspected presence of small stone fragments. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Small Green Lentils, identified above.

In general, if stone or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
