Additional information:

Among the thirty four (34) recalls the NHTSA announced this February comes news of the following:

Logo - BMW of North AmericaBMW of North America, LLC (“BMW”), a Greer, South Carolina establishment and a subsidiary of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG of Munich, Germany, has recalled an estimated 683 model year 2020 X7 xDrive40i and X7 xDrive50i vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V052000 reports the rear reflex reflectors may not reflect an adequate amount of light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (“FMVSS”) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

According to the NHTSA, an inadequate amount of reflected light from the recalled vehicles will decrease the vehicle’s visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

BMW will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace both rear reflex reflectors, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 23, 2020. Owners may contact BMW Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-525-7417.
