US NHTSA Recalls: Goodyear Fortera HL Tires


US FlagWashington, DC: NHTSA Logo ColorAs of Friday, February 21, 2020, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”), a division of the US Department of Transportation, has posted a total of thirty two (32) vehicle, tire, accessory or other automotive-related product recalls this month. Among the thirty two (32) recalls the NHTSA announced this February comes news of the following:

Logo - Goodyear Tire & Rubber CompanyGoodyear Tire & Rubber Company (“Goodyear”), an Akron, Ohio establishment, has recalled an estimated 3,721 model year Fortera HL Tires, size P255/65R18 marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20T002000 reports due to a manufacturing issue, the tire may experience a belt separation.

According to the NHTSA, a belt separation could lead to loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Goodyear will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the tires, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 24, 2020. Owners may contact Goodyear Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-592-3267.
