US NHTSA Recalls: Mazda CX-5 Vehicles

Among the twenty four (24) recalls the NHTSA announced this February comes news of the following:

Logo - Mazda North American OperationsMazda North American Operations (“Mazda”), an Irvine, California establishment and a subsidiary of Mazda Motor Corporation of Hiroshima, Japan has recalled an estimated 36,761 model year 2016 CX-5 vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V063000 reports the LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) may fail while driving.

According to the NHTSA, if the Daytime Running Lights (“DRL”) fails, the vehicle’s visibility may be reduced to other drivers on the road, increasing the risk of a crash.

Mazda will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect the headlights, and replace the sealing gasket or headlight assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 6, 2020. Owners may contact Mazda Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-222-5500, option 4. Mazda’s designation for this recall is 4320A.
