US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Corinthian Trading, Inc. doing business as Corinthian Foods, a Saint Simons Island, Georgia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Uncooked Sweet Potato Crusted Alaska Pollack Fish Nuggets from the American marketplace due to suspected mislabeling/mispackaging and consequential presence of Chicken products rather than Fish with consequential risks of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Pollack Fish Nugget products are subject to this recall:

  • Corinthian Foods Uncooked Sweet Potato Crusted Alaska Pollack Nuggets, sold in five (5) pound bags each containing one (1) ounce nuggets with a date code of CF35319.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after cases of the Alaska Pollack Nuggets were opened in retail stores to put the Fish products out for retail sale. Sales staff observed the label on the retail package did not match the label and description of the master case. Subsequent investigation indicated the problem was caused during the packaging process wherein incorrect labels were applied to the product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Uncooked Sweet Potato Crusted Alaska Pollack Fish Nugget products and could be allergic to their Chicken ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
