US FlagCanada FlagUS/Washington & Canada/Ottawa: Rawlings Sporting Goods Inc., a St. Louis, Missouri establishment, recalls an estimated total 1,470 of Rawlings branded CHMACH-SR Senior Catcher’s Helmets (approximately 1,400 in the US and approximately 70 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected structural failure and consequential risk of head injury and concussion all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Rawlings CHMACH-SR Senior Catchers Helmets.

  • The recalled Helmet have “MACH” printed on the hangtag originally attached to the Helmet. In addition, the brand, “Rawlings” can be found printed on the side of the Helmet and the stylized “R” Rawlings logo can be found on the front center of each Helmet with has a gray chin strap. The plastic Helmets were sold in two-tone color combinations as follows:
    • Black/white (sold with a UPC of 083321545504)
    • Green/white (sold with a UPC of 083321545511)
    • Navy/white (sold with a UPC of 083321545528)
    • Red/white (sold with a UPC of 083321545566).

Please note the specific UPC can be found on the hangtag that was attached to the Helmet at the time of sale. Inside of the Helmet is a sticker that reads “CHMACH-SR-RevA.”

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the back plate of the recalled Catcher’s Helmets can fail to protect the player, posing a risk of head injury to the wearer.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Senior Catcher’s Helmets, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Rawlings to receive a free replacement back plate for head sizes 7.5 and below or a full refund for head sizes above 7.5.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).
