US FlagUS/Washington: Fanim Industries, a Zionsville, Indiana establishment, recalls an estimated 70,000 Harbor Breeze Santa Ana Ceiling Fans from the American marketplace due to suspected component detachment and consequential risk of injury from falling debris, lacerations and property damage, all serious safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Harbor Breeze 48-inch Santa Ana Ceiling Fans, sold with a model designation of LP8294LBN and UPC of 840506599178, as follows:

  • The model number can be on the Fan motor as well as on the inside of the battery compartment cover of the included handheld remote control. The recalled Fan has two dark walnut fan blades, brushed nickel blade arm holders and a frosted white glass globe containing a light bulb.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Fan’s blade holders can break allowing the blade to be ejected from the Fan, posing an injury hazard to consumers. The firm has received 210 reports of the Fan blade breaking or ejecting from the Fan, including ten (10) reports of a Fan blade hitting consumers.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Breeze Santa Ana Ceiling Fans, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact the firm for a free set of replacement blade holders.
