US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Lotte International America Corp., a Los Angeles, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Chocopie Confectionery Treats from the American marketplace due to undeclared Almond Nuts, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Confectionery Treats are subject to this recall

  • Chocopie – Original flavor, sold in 12-pack boxes with an expiry date of 06/23/2020 and a UPC of 8801062160709
  • Chocopie – Banana flavor, sold in 12-pack boxes with an expiry date of 04/11/2020 and a UPC of 845502061407
  • Chocopie – Cacao flavor, sold in 12-pack boxes with an expiry date of 04/23/2020 and a UPC of 8801062475148

According to the FDA, Lotte International America has recalled its 11.85-ounce packages of “Chocopie” manufactured by Lotte Confectionery Co. Ltd. Korea due to the presence of Almond Nuts although the packaging shows the “manufactured in a facility that also processes peanut & almond”. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Confectionery Treats identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chocopie Confectionery Treats and could be allergic to their Almond Nuts ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
