Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Austral Herbs Pty Ltd, an Uralla, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Austral Herbs branded Organic Peppermint Leaf products from the Australian marketplace due to suspected chemical contamination with an unidentified substance and consequential risks of ingestion injury and poisoning, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Organic Peppermint Leaf products are subject to this recall:

  • Organic Peppermint Leaf products, sold in 250 gram, 500 gram and 1000 gram (one kilogram) plastic foiled pouches and seven (7) kilogram cartons with a best-before date of 02/09/2022 and a batch/lot designation of OMPLES0395HM

==> No barcodes, APNs, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to suspected chemical contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Austral Herbs branded Organic Peppermint Leaf products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect spice.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Austral Herbs branded Organic Peppermint Leaf products, please do not serve nor consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or other outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
