Among the fifteen (15) recalls the NHTSA announced this February comes news of the following:

Logo - Chrysler (FCA US LLC)Chrysler (FCA US LLC), an Auburn Hills, Michigan establishment and a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV of Amsterdam, Netherlands has recalled an estimated 87,431 model year 2019-2020 RAM 2500 and 3500 Pickup Trucks equipped with six-speed automatic (“68RFE”) transmissions marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V043000 reports a build up of pressure and heat inside the transmission in the recalled Pickup Trucks may result in a transmission fluid leak from the dipstick tube.

According to the NHTSA, the leaking transmission fluid may contact the turbocharger or another ignition source within the engine compartment, increasing the risk of a fire.

Chrysler will notify registered owners, and dealers will replace the transmission valve body separator plate and reprogram the powertrain control module. The recall is expected to begin March 14, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s designation for this recall is W03.
