US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Nuts ‘N More, an East Providence, Rhode Island establishment, recalls an estimated 4143 jars of Nuts ‘N More branded Plain Peanut Spread products from the American marketplace due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following plain Peanut Spread products are subject to this recall:

  • Nuts ‘N More – Plain Peanut Spread, sold in 16-ounce plastic jars with a batch/lot designation of PB91, an expiry date code of 03/04/2021 and a UPC of 6-09132-00242-7

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled plain Peanut Spread products can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after the potential for Listeria was found through routine testing. Nuts ‘N More has ceased the production and distribution of this product as State of Rhode Island health authorities and the company continue their investigation. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled plain Peanut Spread products identified above.

The Nuts ‘N More branded Plain Peanut Spread was known to be distributed to retail locations in AL, AZ, FL, IN, MA, ME, RI and VA. The product was also distributed in Canada and the United Kingdom.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Peanut Spread products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Peanut products to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
