US NHTSA Recalls: Vactor 2100i Vehicles

Among the twelve (12) recalls the NHTSA announced this February comes news of the following:

Logo - Vactor ManufacturingVactor Manufacturing (“Vactor”), a Streator, Illinois establishment and subsidiary of Federal Signal Corporation, has recalled an estimated 777 model 2017-2020 Vactor 2100i vehicles manufactured with RECIRC or flusher as original equipment or retrofitted vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V050000 reports while in Recirculation (“RECIRC”) or Flusher mode and then switched to Jetting mode, the safety interlocks may fail resulting in unintentional vehicle movement.

According to the NHTSA, unintentional vehicle movement increases the risk of crash and injury.

Vactor will notify registered owners, and dealers will provide software updates, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Vactor Customer Service toll-free at 1-877-342-5374. Vactor’s designation for this recall is SB-0304.
