US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Whole Foods Market Stores, an Austin, Texas establishment and subsidiary of Seattle, Washington-based Amazon.com recalls certain batch/lots of Bundt Cakes and Chocolate Dipped Cookies from the American marketplace due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

  • Chocolate Fudge Mini Bundt Cake, sold with a Whole Foods product number that begins with 221287 and a best-by dates up to Feb 08 2020
  • Marble Bundt Cake, sold with a Whole Foods product number that begins with 245162 and a best-by dates up to Feb 08 2020
  • Dark Chocolate Dipped Almond Horn Cookie, sold with a Whole Foods product number that begins with 233579 and a best-by dates up to Feb 17 2020
  • Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroon Cookie, sold with a Whole Foods product number that begins with 248454 and a best-by dates up to Feb 08 2020

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the affected products were sold at Whole Foods Market Stores in Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia and Washington DC.

The Bundt Cakes and Chocolate Dipped Cookies were available in the bakery department and sold in clear plastic packaging with Whole Foods Market scale labels. The Cookies were also available on self-serve cookie displays and sold by the pound.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Bundt Cakes and Chocolate Dipped Cookies and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
