Canada/Ottawa: Cielo Glamping Maritime, a Haut-Shippagan, New Brunswick establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Bottled Clams from the Canadian marketplace due to suspected of Clostridium botulinum contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following processed Seafood products are subject to this recall:

  • Unbranded Bottled Clams, sold with no label in 500 ml jars by Cielo Glamping Maritime, 232 Chemin des Huîtres, Haut-Shippigan, New Brunswick
  • Unbranded Bottled Clams, sold with no label in one (1) litre jars by Cielo Glamping Maritime, 232 Chemin des Huîtres, Haut-Shippigan, New Brunswick

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Cielo Glamping Maritime has recalled certain Bottled Clams from the Canadian marketplace because they may permit the growth of Clostridium botulinum. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Bottled Clams identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, please return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial such as Botulism.
