Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves Spare branded Power Banks used to charge electronic devices when their primary battery runs out of power, as follows:

  • Each of the recalled Power Banks have a 10,000 mAh Grade A lithium ion battery, LED indicator lights, a flashlight and measures approximately 5-1/2 inches long by 2-1/2 inches wide. Each is off-white and may be decorated with various corporate logos. A purchase order (“PO”) number of 1813582 is printed on the back of the Power Banks.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the Spare Power Bank’s lithium-ion battery can overheat and ignite, posing fire and burn hazards.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Spare branded Power Banks, please do not use them. Instead, kindly discard the Power Bank in accordance with local municipal hazardous waste requirements to protect the drinking water supply and the ecosystem.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).
