Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Mur Thai Food Co Pty Ltd, a Prestons, New South Wales establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Hoshi Otsumami Fish Snack products from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Peanuts and Soy, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Fish Snack products are subject to this recall:

  • Hoshi Otsumami Fish Snack Original, sold in 125 gram packages with a best-before date of 6 July 2021 and a UPC of 8855273012296
  • Hoshi Otsumami Fish Snack Herbal, sold in 110 gram packages with a best-before date of 6 July 2021 and a UPC of 8855273012302

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the presence of undeclared Soy in the Original flavour Fish Snacks and Peanuts in the Herbal flavour variety.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Hoshi Otsumami Fish Snack and could be allergic to their Peanut and/or Soy ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 0-0-0, your closest hospital or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
