Sugar Kid Salted Egg Fish Skin Recall [US]

US FlagUS/Washington: Golden Pearl Trading Corporation, doing business as Dandy Food Products, a San Lorenzo, California establishment, recalls an estimated 12,054 pounds of ready-to-eat (“RTE”) imported Siluriformes Fish products from the American marketplace due to suspected failure to present for import re-inspection upon entry into the United States, a serious health hazard. In addition, the products were produced in Singapore, a country ineligible to export Siluriformes Fish products into the United States.

Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Siluriformes Fish products were imported on or about September 26, 2019 through December 24, 2019 and are subject to this recall:

  • Sugar Kid branded Salted Egg Fish Skin, sold in 113 gram predominantly yellow and brown-colored foil bags with a picture of the Fish product located at the bottom of each pouch

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, this recall was initiated during routine US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) surveillance activities of imported products.

The recalled Siluriformes Fish products were known to have been shipped to distributors and retail locations in California, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Fish Skin products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
