Forest River Rockport Work Truck Recall [US]Forest River, Inc. (“Forest River”), an Elkhart, Indiana establishment and subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway of Omaha, Nebraska, has recalled an estimated 4,105 model year 2014-2019 Rockport Work Trucks marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 20V029000 reports that the roof and front cap of the recalled Rockport Work Trucks may have been improperly fastened together, potentially allowing the roof to detach from the front cap and vehicle

According to the NHTSA, if the roof detaches from the Work Truck while it is in motion, it can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash, both for the subject vehicle as well as those nearby.

Forest River will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicles and properly secure the roofs, as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin March 9, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River Customer Service toll-free at 1-574-522-7599. Forest River’s designation for this recall is 51-1123.
