According to the ACCC, the recalled Teethers are smaller than the permitted dimensions specified in Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 — Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’. Consequently, the Teethers may get lodged in an infant’s throat and pose a choking or suffocation hazard. You should not allow your child to use, play or otherwise be in contact with the recalled Baby Teethers identified above.

In general, if plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Baby Teethers, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, Big Baby Co. will contact affected consumers directly to organise a return of the product and refund.
