UK FlagUK/London: Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd, a London, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of by Sainsbury’s branded Vegetable Gyoza with a Soy and Ginger Dip products from the British marketplace due to undeclared Prawns, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Vegetable Gyoza products are subject to recall:

  • by Sainsbury’s 10 Vegetable Gyoza with a Soy and Ginger Dip, sold in 210 gram boxes with a batch/lot code of 17519, a best-before end date of June 2021

==> No barcodes, EANs, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Vegetable Gyoza products or foods can be found on the Web site above.

According to the FSA, some packages of by Sainsbury’s branded Vegetable Gyoza products contain Prawns making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to crustaceans.. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Gyoza products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Vegetable Gyoza products and could be allergic to their Prawn ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
