US FlagCanada FlagUS/Washington & Canada/Ottawa: Bass Pro, LLC, a Springfield, Missouri establishment, recalls an estimated total 3,700 Mr. Steak branded Gas Grills (~3,400 in the US and 400 in Canada) from the American and Canadian marketplaces due to suspected component melting and consequential risk of fire, burns and property damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports the recall involves four and five burner models of Mr. Steak branded Gas Grills, models MS-4B-PG, SKU 2472264 and MS-5B-PG, SKU 2472265, that have both a fuel gauge and a fuel line that is not attached to the inside of the Grills, as follows:

  • The Grills are stainless steel with black trim and have four or five black and red dials. The brand, “MR. STEAK” can be found below the thermometer on the Grills’ lid. The recall also applies to SKUs 2366916 and 2366917 if you added an aftermarket fuel gauge to the regulator assembly. A label on the inside of the left compartment door or on the back of the individual Grill identifies the model number of the Grill. The SKU is printed on the purchase receipt.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the gas regulator hose with attached fuel gauge can melt if it comes in contact with the bottom of the Grill’s firebox, posing a fire hazard.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Mr. Steak branded Gas Grills, please do not use it. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat burns. Bass Pro has received nine (9) reports of grill fires. No injuries or property damage have been reported.
