Bosch Buderus Oil-Condensing Boiler Recall [US]

US FlagUS/Washington: Bosch Thermotechnology Corp., a Watertown, Massachusetts establishment, recalls an estimated 170 Buderus GB125-35 Oil-Condensing Boilers from the American marketplace due to suspected blocked venting failure and consequential risks of asphyxiation, Carbon Monoxide poisoning, neurological damage and death, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain Buderus brand GB125-35 Oil-Condensing Boilers distributed by Bosch, as follows:

  • The recalled Boilers have a blue enclosure, and the GB125-35 model number is located on the data plate near the top right hand side of the Boiler. The Buderus brand name is printed on the outside of the Boiler’s blue enclosure. The brand, “Bosch Thermotechnology” and the model number can be found on a white label on the blue enclosure.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CPSC, the siphon on the recalled Oil-Condensing Boilers can become blocked, leading to a delayed ignition that can damage the Boiler’s exhaust system, creating a carbon monoxide hazard.
