Among the eleven (11) recalls the NHTSA announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Daimler Trucks North America LLCDaimler Trucks North America LLC (“DTNA”), a Portland, Oregon establishment and a subsidiary of Daimler AG of Stuttgart, Germany, has recalled an estimated 2,941 model year 2020 FCC MT45G vehicles equipped with Ioxus 12V uSTART MD battery support modules marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 19V916000 reports the uSTART module electronics can short circuit internally, causing the vehicle’s battery to fully discharge into the uSTART module.

According to the NHTSA, a short circuit in the uStart module can increase the risk of a fire.

DTNA will notify registered owners, and dealers remove the uSTART and replace it with an equivalent battery, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin February 17, 2020. Owners may contact DTNA customer service toll-free at 1-800-547-0712 during normal business hours, Central Standard Time Monday to Friday. DTNA’s designation for this recall is FL-842.
