US FlagUS/Silver Spring: FiveStar Gourmet Foods, an Ontario, California establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Meijer branded MiniMeal2Go products from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following ready-to-eat Snack Kits with Eggs or Egg products are subject to this recall:

  • Meijer branded MiniMeals2Go – Protein Pack, sold in 6/8.25 ounce packages, sold with a Meijer SKU of FG10461, batch/lots of 34619, 34719, 35019,35119, 3521 or 35719, known to have been sold in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin with a best-by dates of 12/26/19, 12/27/19, 12/30/19, 12/31/19, 1Ω/01/20 or 01/06/20 and a UPC of 8-0012-79311-3
  • Meijer branded MiniMeals2Go – Avocado Toast, sold in 6/6.75 ounce packages, sold with a Meijer SKU of FG10463, batch/lots of 34619, 34719, 35019, 35119, 35219 or 35719, known to have been sold in the states of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin with a best-by dates of 12/26/19, 12/27/19, 12/30/19, 12/31/19, 01/01/20 or 01/06/20 and a UPC of 8-50012-79315-1

According to the FDA, FiveStar Gourmet Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of ready-to-eat Meijer branded MiniMeal2Go products from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Sandwiches identified above.

This notification was initiated as a knock-on recall from FiveStar Gourmet Foods primary supplier Almark Foods, a Gainesville, Georgia establishment, because Almark Foods supplied certain lots of Eggs that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. These Eggs are thought to be the source of an ongoing Listeria monocytogenes foodborne illness investigation.

FiveStar Gourmet Foods has recalled the above Meijer branded MiniMeal2Go products because the Hardboiled Egg products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Almark’s Eggs are currently associated with an outbreak of Listeriosis illness consisting of seven (7) known illnesses in five (5) states.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Snack Kit products please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Kits to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
