Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following ready-to-eat Salad Bar Egg products are subject to this recall:

  • Meijer Stores Frozen Hard-Boiled Eggs sold in five (5) pound containers with a UPC of 79379900993

According to the FDA, Meijer Stores has recalled certain batch/lots of ready-to-eat Salad Bar Hard-Boiled Egg products from the American marketplace due to suspected Listeria monocytogenes contamination. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Sandwiches identified above.

This notification was initiated as a knock-on recall from Meijer Stores primary supplier Almark Foods, a Gainesville, Georgia establishment, because Almark Foods supplied certain lots of Eggs that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. These Eggs are thought to be the source of an ongoing Listeria monocytogenes foodborne illness investigation.

Meijer Stores has recalled the above Salad Bar Egg products because these Hardboiled Egg products have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Almark’s Eggs are currently associated with an outbreak of Listeriosis illness across at least five (5) states.
