Sainsbury’s, a London, England establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of By Sainsbury’s Hot Buffalo Dip products from the British marketplace due to suspected mislabeling and consequential risk of undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Dip Sauces are subject to recall:

  • By Sainsbury’s Hot Buffalo Dip, sold in 90 gram tubs with a use-by date of 06 December 2019

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Sainsbury’s has recalling certain By Sainsbury’s Hot Buffalo Dip products because they may contain Egg, an ingredient not mentioned on the product label. Some packages may contain a Garlic and Herb Dip that has been mislabeled as Hot Buffalo Dip. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to Egg.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled By Sainsbury’s Hot Buffalo Dip products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-9-9, your closest hospital A&E or emergency centre equipped to properly treat Anaphylaxis.
