Toysmith Light-Up Magic Wand Recall [US & Canada]

Additional information:
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall includes a fuchsia colored Light-Up Magic Wand topped with a star that flashes and makes noise, as follows:

  • The recalled Wand Toys have a manufacturing date code printed in white on the bottom portion of the Wand. Only Magic Wands with date codes between March 2018 (3/18/373) and June 2019 (6/19/373) are included in the recall. A UPC of 085761220034 and can be found on the hangtag.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Light-Up Magic Wand Toys can be found on the Web site above.

According to the CPSC, the battery cover can detach and expose the button-cell batteries, posing choking and ingestion hazards to young children. Toysmith has received one (1) report of a child swallowing one (1) of the batteries removed from the Toy Wand. Medical attention was required to remove the battery.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Magic Wand Toys, please do not use them nor let your child play with them. Instead, kindly place them out of the reach of children and return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: this is a joint recall from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and Health Canada (“HCSC”).

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat poisonings.

==> Small “button” batteries pose special ingestion risks to small children. Devices using them in the home or school should be closely examined and monitored for any breakage or other unintended access that could allow these batteries to be swallowed or otherwise ingested.
