Zamel branded Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarm products sold with a model number of CTW-01 and an EAN/UPC of 5903669074151. No production dates, expiry dates, registration numbers, agency approval designations or other codes were listed with this recall.

The type of hazards presented in the recalled Zamel branded Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarms include the reported operational failure of the device to activate and/or warn occupants in the event of potentially dangerous levels of the chemical Carbon Monoxide.

Specifically, the recalled Detector/Alarm products are not sufficiently sensitive with respect to detection of Carbon Monoxide and therefore pose a risk of CO poisoning, possibly leading to life-changing injuries or death.

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these Zamel branded Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarms do not comply with Europe’s Regulatory Standard EN 50291. Consequently, a recall of these products from the European marketplace has been ordered.
