US FlagUS/Silver Spring: Almark Foods, a Gainesville, Georgia establishment, recalls certain batch/lots of Hard-Boiled and Peeled Eggs due to suspected risk of Listeria monocytogenes contamination and consequential risk of Gram-positive bacterial infection, severe illness and/or possible life-changing complications, all serious health hazards.

Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Hard-Boiled and Peeled Egg products are subject to this recall:

  • Almark Foods branded Hard Cooked Broken Egg Whites, sold in 20 pound pails with a product ID of 42020 and best-before dates of 12/19/2019, 1/23/2020 and 1/24/2020
  • Almark branded Hard-Cooked Eggs, sold in 20 pound pails with a product ID of 30020 and best-before dates of 1/29/2020, 2/10/2020, 2/24/2019 and 2/14/2020
  • Egggs Select branded Whole Hard Cooked Peeled Eggs, sold in 23 pound pails with a product ID of 64023-05 and a best-before date of 1/27/2020
  • Nic’s Peeled Pearls branded Salad Grade Hard-Boiled Eggs, sold in 23 pound pails with a product ID of 17394 and best-before dates of 1/20/2020, 2/3/2020, 2/4/2020 and 2/24/2020
  • Nic’s Peeled Pearls branded Nic’s Salad Grade Hard-boiled Eggs, sold in 20 pound pails with a product ID of 17395 and best-before dates of 12/24/2019, 12/25/2019, 12/31/2019, 1/6/2020, 1/7/2020, 1/8/2020, 1/13/2020, 1/14/2020, 1/28/2020, 1/28/2020, 1/29/2020, 2/4/2020 and 2/5/2020
  • Rainbow Farms branded Hard-Cooked Peeled Eggs, sold in 20 pound pails with a product ID of 60020 and best-before dates of 1/13/2020, 1/20/2020, 1/21/2020, 1/22/2020, 1/27/2020, 1/28/2020, 1/29/2020, 2/3/2020, 2/10/2020, 2/11/2020, 2/14/2020, 2/17/2020, 2/18/2020 and 2/24/2020
  • Rainbow Farms branded Hard Cooked Peeled Eggs, sold in 23 pound pails with a product ID of 60023 and best-before dates of 1/13/2020, 1/15/2019, 1/20/2020, 1/22/2019, 1/27/2020, 1/29/2020, 2/3/2020, 2/10/2020, 2/13/2020, 2/17/2020, 2/19/2020, 2/24/2020 and 2/26/2020
  • Rainbow Farms branded Hard Cooked Peeled Eggs in Vinegar, sold in 23 pound pails with a product ID of 60023V and best-before dates of 1/22/2020 and 2/13/2020
  • Rainbow Farms branded Hard Cooked, Peeled Eggs, sold in 25 pound pails with a product ID of 60025 and best-before dates of 1/13/2020, 1/28/2020, 2/13/2020, and 2/17/2020
  • Sutherland’s Food Service Inc. branded Premium Hard Cooked Peeled Select Whole Eggs, sold in 20 pound pails with a product ID of 60020-3 and a best-before date of 1/15/2020

Additional images of the recalled Hard-Boiled and Peeled Egg products can be found on the Web site above. The recalled Egg products were known to be distributed to food service companies in AL, AZ, CA, FL, GA, IA, MO, MS, NC, PA and TN.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Almark Foods has recalled the above batch/lots of Hard-Boiled and Peeled Eggs in white plastic pails with white plastic lids due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. You should neither serve nor consume the recalled Egg products identified above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Hard-Boiled and Peeled Eggs products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Eggs to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> If you have a medical emergency, please contact 9-1-1, your closest hospital or emergency center equipped to properly treat bacterial poisonings such as Listeriosis.
