US NHTSA Recalls: Ford F-250, F-350 & F-450 Pick-up Trucks

Among the 69 (sixty nine) recalls the NHTSA announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Ford Motor CompanyFord Motor Company (“Ford”), a Dearborn, Michigan establishment, has recalled an estimated 490,574 model year 2017-2019 F-Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 SuperCrew Cab vehicles with carpet flooring marketed, sold and delivered in the United States.

NHTSA Safety Notification 19V880000 reports a vehicle fire could result if materials ignite inside the vehicle.

According to the NHTSA, if the driver operates the vehicle unaware that ESC and ABS are not functioning, there is an increased risk of a crash.

Ford will notify registered owners, and dealers will apply heat resistant tape to the carpet and its insulation, and modify the B-Pillar insulation as necessary, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 20, 2020. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-436-7332 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Ford’s designation for this recall is 19S52.
