Additional information:

Among the 47 (forty seven) recalls the NHTSA announced this month comes news of the following:

Logo - Subaru of America, Inc.Subaru of America, Inc. (“Subaru”), a Camden, New Jersey establishment and a subsidiary of Subaru Corporation of Japan, has recalled an estimated 51,613 model 2019 Crosstrek, Forester and Ascent vehicles marketed, sold and delivered in the United State.

NHTSA Safety Notification 19V820000 reports the aluminum Positive Crankcase Ventilation (“PCV”) valve can separate in the recalled vehicles, allowing engine oil and components of the PCV valve into the combustion chamber, resulting in a loss of power while driving.

According to the NHTSA, an unexpected loss of power while driving can increase the risk of a crash.

Subaru will notify registered owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the PCV valve, free of charge. If the PCV valve has separated and the components cannot be found, the short block engine will be replaced, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin January 24, 2020. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614 during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, Eastern Standard Time (“EST”). Subaru’s designation for this recall is WUW-08.
