Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Zao & Co., an Australian online reseller, has recalled certain batch/lots of Wooden Teether Shapes due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003 – Consumer Product Safety Standard: Toys for children up to and including 36 months of age’. Specifically, the Teether is smaller than the permitted dimensions specified under the regulation and could pose consequential risks of choking, oral injury, internal ingestion and GI tract laceration damage, all serious health and safety hazards.

The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Zao Wooden Teether Shapes are subject to this recall:

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the Teethers may become lodged in an infant’s throat and pose a choking or suffocation hazard..

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Zao Wooden Teether Shapes, please do not use them nor let your child play with them. Instead, kindly contact Zao & Co. to arrange for a return and full refund.
