Fibaro branded Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarm products sold with a model designation of FGCD-001 ZW5 V3 2 and an EAN/UPC of 5902020528838. The recalled Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarms were manufactured in March 2018, meaning that the production codes of “XX.03.2018” or “2018.MAR.XX” can be seen on the packaging of the recalled products.

The type of hazard presented in these recalled Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarm products include the suspected failure to report dangerous concentrations of Carbon Monoxide (“CO”) gas quickly enough to prevent poisoning, injury and/or death during a CO exposure, all serious health and safety hazards.

If this defect occurs, a person could be inadvertently exposed to Carbon Monoxide gas for an excessive amount of time, increasing the risk of poisoning and asphyxiation.

Due to these defects and their associated risks, these Fibaro branded Carbon Monoxide Detector/Alarm products do not comply with Europe’s Regulation EN50291. Consequently, a recall of these products from European end users has been ordered.
