Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: Kidz Kingdom Furniture, a Preston, Victoria establishment recalls certain batch/lots of Hannah Single Loft Beds and Snow White Bunk Beds due to suspected failure to comply with Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Trade Practices Act 1974 Consumer Protection Notice No. 1 of 2003 Consumer Product Safety Standard: Bunk Beds’, structural deficiencies and consequential risks of choking, entrapment, strangulation and lacerations, all serious health and safety hazards.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Single Loft Bed and Bunk Bed products are subject to this recall:

  • Kidz Kingdom Furniture Hannah Single Loft Beds, designed for children and sold in a white with stained wood trim colour/style
  • Kidz Kingdom Furniture Snow White Bunk Beds, designed for children and sold in a white colour/style with three (3) drawers at the base and a white climbing ladder

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, the recalled Bunk Beds do not comply with Australia’s mandatory standard ‘Trade Practices Act 1974 Consumer Protection Notice No. 1 of 2003 Consumer Product Safety Standard: Bunk Beds’.

Specifically, the recalled Bunk and Loft Beds do not meet the Australian regulatory specifications and requirements for allowable guard rail height and entrapment hazards. In this case, the ACCC reports the front guard rail gap is too wide.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Bunk and/or Loft Beds, please do not use them nor allow your child to sleep or play in or near them. Instead, kindly contact Australian Kidz Kingdom Furniture to arrange for new parts to be installed onto your Bed.
