Australia FlagAustralia/Canberra: David Jones Pty Ltd, a Melbourne, Victoria establishment and subsidiary of South African retail group Woolworths Holdings Limited, recalls certain batch/lots of David Jones branded Vegetable Spring Rolls from the Australian marketplace due to undeclared Sesame Seeds, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.

Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Vegetable Spring Roll products are subject to this recall:

  • David Jones branded Vegetable Spring Rolls, sold in 240 gram plastic trays with a cardboard wrap-around label, a use-by date of 28 November 2019 and an APN/EAN of 9334213837186

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to the presence of Sesame Seeds, an ingredient not declared on the product label.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household rubbish, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Vegetable Spring Rolls and could be allergic to their Sesame ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
